Replaces Workplace Connect: The Biamp Workplace Tools desktop app replaces the Workplace Connect App for discovering Workplace-compatible devices and adding them to Workplace organizations.

About the Workplace Tools desktop app

Biamp Workplace Tools is a desktop application for discovering and adding supported audiovisual devices and bridges to Biamp Workplace Organizations. The app also provides some device settings and management controls — both for assigned devices as well as supported devices that have not yet been assigned to a Workplace Organization. Additionally, Tools provides the ability to assign devices to Workplace Bridges for controlled indirect internet connection, as well as to assign peripherals and other child devices to Biamp UC products.

 

Note: The Workplace Tools desktop app is entirely separate from the BIamp Workplace Tools mobile app used to identify the location of Voltera amplifiers.

 

 

Features and functions

 

  • Automatically discover Workplace-supported audiovisual and bridge devices on a subnet your computer is connected to.

 

  • Manually discover and add remote devices not on the subnet by manually entering the devices' IP addresses.

 

  • Remotely view information about the supported devices.
    • Hostname
    • Device model
    • Device serial number
    • The firmware version loaded on each discovered Tesira device
    • The location
    • Device status

 

  • Assign discovered devices to Biamp Workplace organizations and locations.
    • Assigning devices requires Organization Admin or Owner rights for that Workplace organization.

 

  • Manage supported devices. Depending on the device type and its location, you can:
    • Move the device to a new location in a Workplace organization
    • Update firmware
    • Reboot the device
    • Trigger a location indicator to flash on the device.

 

  • Assign audiovisual devices to internet bridges within the same organization.

 

  • Assign audiovisual devices to Biamp UC devices within the same organization in a parent-child relationship.

 

  • Configure supported devices' settings and edit drivers for supported devices.
    • See the Apps tab in the Workplace Tools apps to view which device families this feature is supported for.
    • Future updates will add more device families.
